Theatre of Menace Theatre of Menace returns to the stage with their latest production, “Mörk,” a horror anthology comprising three spine-chilling vignettes. This new work delves into the thin line between the here and now and the hereafter, placing the audience at the very center of an experience defined by dread, terror, and regret.
An Immersive, Minimalist Experience
The production leans into minimalist theatre, stripped down to its primary essence: the raw emotional connection between characters and the audience. To create a truly intimate and immersive atmosphere, “Mörk” aims to be lit entirely by practical lights, deconstructing the traditional stage setup to heighten the shared experience of the supernatural.
Three Faces of Horror
As an anthology, the performance traverses multiple horror sub-genres, offering something for every fan of the macabre:
Scream Queens: A playful exploration of common Slasher tropes.
Restful Sleep: A dedicated homage to the atmosphere of Gothic Horror.
The Offering: A venture into Folk Horror, featuring a satisfying twist.
About Theatre of Menace
Known for exploring tension and discomfort, Theatre of Menace established their style through the works of legendary playwright Harold Pinter, including productions of “Party Time” and “One for the Road.” The company has since transitioned into original storytelling. “Mörk” follows their debut original production, “Precipice,” a three-part anthology that examined deep moral quandaries and life-altering decisions regarding faith and family.
