Gothenburg might not be the first city you think about when you think “exclusive fine dining” – however it has nevertheless placed itself as a culinary destination. To have five restaurants with one star each in the gastronomic bible Guide Michelin, sure helps a lot.

A little tip: If you want a high-quality late-night snack, the basement bar beneath Koka, called Björns Bar, serves fantastic food into the early hours.
Serves food from Swedish traditions varying depending on the season. SK Mat och människor was awarded a Michelin star in 2015. The restaurant features a Chef’s table, where you can even book to cook the food with one of the chefs before enjoying it. Even if you don’t book the Chef’s table you will be able to see the cooking, with the kitchen in the middle of the open-plan restaurant.
