"The Emigrants from Gaza" is a play resisting cultural genocide in Gaza, preserving its lost culture. It recreates the last Gaza production of Sławomir Mrożek’s "The Emigrants," directed by Noam Nassar, about two emigrants in a western basement on New Year’s Eve. Two Palestinian actors from ’48 reprise the original Gazan roles, mirroring the lights, costumes, and direction. Interwoven are testimonies from Gazan actor Hossam Al-Madhoun, recounting life under genocide until his escape to Egypt. The actors present evidence, and the audience bears witness, building a fragile stage world amid a collapsing reality.
